USF Notches Second Straight Shutout at Home

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After pushing No. 11 Stanford to the brink on Thursday, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team (3-2-1) got back in the win column on Sunday afternoon, defeating Portland State, 2-0, at Negoesco Stadium.

  • Wasting no time on offense, the Dons fired the first three shots of the contest as Kalena Teufel, Marissa Vasquez and Jamesen Ward all attempted to score within the first eight minutes of action.
  • As the two sides traded shots in the minutes to follow, the Dons got on the board first in the 27th minute on a goal from Teufel inside of the box.
