CLAREMONT, Calif. -- USF's women's tennis season came to an end today as the Dons fell to Saint Mary's, 4-2 in the first round of the WCC Championships being held in Claremont.
The Gaels posted doubles wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions and then preceded to record singles three singles victories on courts 3, 5 and 6 to close out the match. With the win, the Gaels advance to face No. 2 seed Gonzaga in one semifinal match on Saturday.
After suffering a loss at the No. 2 doubles position, USF's top tandem of Andrea Ka and Thyra Taune evened the match with an easy, 6-0 victory over Clementine Clement and Emma Crister.
