USF Drops Heartbreaker to Stanford in 90th Minute

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Battling a Pac-12 opponent for the third time this season, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (2-11-1, 0-4-1) dropped a heartbreaker to Stanford (6-6-5, 2-4-3) on Thursday evening following a late goal from the Cardinal in the 90 minute.

  • With neither team recording a shot through the first nine minutes of action, Stanford recorded their first attack at 9:31 on a shot from Keegan Tingey, which ultimately sailed wide of the cage. For the Dons, USF tallied their first attempt at a goal at 18:11 on a shot from Nathan Simeon, but the Cardinal goalkeeper Matt Frank saved the strike to keep the match scoreless.
