SAN FRANCISCO – "All I was looking for was someone who wanted me to play and valued my skills, so it became a pretty easy decision for me," said Mary Hile-Nepfel, when discussing why she chose the University of San Francisco over other offers.
The USF icon had a career that spanned 23 years, leading the women's basketball program not only on the court as an All-American player, but also from the sidelines as the winningest coach in program history.
Her dominant play on the hardwood has withstood the test of time, as she continues to own the top spot in the women's career record books for points (2,324) and rebounds (1,602), and she ranks as one of a select few players in program history to average a double-double over the course of her career.
