SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The University of San Francisco track team will have another representative next month at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Austin, Texas, after Dana Klein advanced Saturday in the women's 1,500 meters at the NCAA West Preliminary meet at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium.
Klein ran a personal-best 4 minutes, 15.27 seconds, to finish 11th overall and grab the last of two "next fastest time" qualifying spots. There were two heats of 12 runners each Saturday, with the top-five finishers in both heats grabbing auto qualifying spots to the national championship and only two spots left for the next fastest times.
