SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sadi Henderson punched her ticket Friday to the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with a stellar performance in the 800 meters, finishing third overall at the NCAA West Preliminary meet in a program and personal best time at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium.
Henderson broke her own University of San Francisco record by nearly two seconds, running 2:03.31. She grabbed the last automatic qualifying spot by finishing third in the third heat – the fastest of the day. Henderson was coming out of the first lane, but still managed to run the third fastest time in the event.
