SAN FRANCISCO – A total of 31 student-athletes celebrated commencement ceremonies over the weekend inside St. Ignatius Church, as the University of San Francisco celebrates the academic accomplishments of more than 2,000 graduating students from May 16-18.
Speakers for this weekend include Dr. Clarence B. Jones, former speechwriter and counsel for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, California's first surgeon general; and Helen Zia, an award-winning author, journalist, and activist for Asian American and LGBTQ rights.
Graduation weekend began on Thursday afternoon with a Commencement Mass in St. Ignatius Church. The School of Education (Graduate) held its commencement ceremony on Thursday evening, while Undergraduate Humanities and Sciences, Arts and Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences (Graduate) and the School of Nursing held its commencement ceremonies on Friday.
