STANFORD, Calif. – Charlotte Taylor rewrote the record books on Friday at the Payton Jordan Invitational. Not only turning in a new school record best in the 5,000 meters, Taylor turned in the fastest NCAA time of the season under the lights at Cobb Track and Angell Field.
Taylor, a senior distance runner from Spalding, England, rounded the track in the fastest heat of the night in 15:29.07. She was the only NCAA collegian in the field, taking 13th in a collection of athletes than included last year's NCAA champion Dominique Scott. Running for Adidas, Scott took eighth in the heat, just over five seconds faster than Taylor.
