Junior Ashton Silk is one of 14 golfers from the United States who have been selected to the Open Golf Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18 in Isreal.
Maccabi USA will bring a team of more than 1,000 athletes who will join the other 8,750 Jewish athletes from 80 countries who will participate in 43 different sports.
Silk, a native of Hillsborough who attended Serra High School, will join Scott Adams (Asheville, NC / Colgate), Hannah Berman (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL / West Florida), Joseph Burkinshaw (Germantown, MB / Shepherd), Zachary Burkinshaw (Germantown, MB / Shepherd), Ben DuBois (Renton, WA / Gonzaga), Benjamin Field (Plymouth Meeting, PA / Drexel), Julia Hyman (Allentown, PA / Georgetown), David Lebowitz (Santa Monica, CA / Tulane), Marni Murez (Manhattan Beach, CA / Boston College), Alexa Popowitz (Boca Raton, FL / Georgetown), Benjamin Smith (Philadelphia, PA / Delaware), Julie Steinbauer (Doral, FL / Rollins College) and Sean Wigler (Birmingham, AL / Arizona State) on the United States' golf team at the Maccabiah Games.
