Junior Weronika Pyzik headlined the Dons on the track in Europe over the weekend, taking second at the 34th PZLA U23 Polish Championships in Suwalki on July 1.
Pyzik, a native of Bilgoraj, Poland, earned a silver medal in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:11.08, narrowly edged by Aleksandra Holda (17:10.10). Pyzik crossed the line 15 seconds ahead of the bronze medalist, Aneta Konieczek, to earn her second place spot on the podium.
A day after the Polish Championships concluded, Pyzik was tabbed to represent Poland at the 11th U23 European Championships at Zawisza Stadium on July 13-16.
