MORAGA, Calif — The University of San Francisco's men's tennis team battled in competitive singles matches over the past weekend at the Saint Mary's Invitational at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.
Romeo Midtgaard Jivraj dominated against Saint Mary's Abhishek Bastola beating him in straight sets, 6-0;6-2. In 16s, Jivraj took on Santa Clara's Vasileios Illipoulos and fell in close sets, 6-1;6-1. In extra singles, Paul Giraud, Phuc Huynh and David Woodland showed off their talent and took down their opponents. Giraud defeated Sacramento State's Dom Miller, 6-7(3), 6-4, 1-0(8), Huynh escaped with a 7-5, 1-6, 1-0(6) victory over Cal Poly's Gabriel Gilbert, and David Woodland also defeated Sacramento State's Bernardo Moraes - 6-2, Retire.
