SAN FRANCISCO — No. 16 San Francisco (2-1-1) fought competitively to No. 25 Stanford (1-0-3), but it was Stanford who pulled away with a 2-0 victory on Friday night at Negoesco Stadium.
The Dons and the Cardinal remained scoreless up until the 67th minute when Stanford shot two goals in a span of two minutes. Stanford took control offensively when Logan Panchot found Zach Ryan inside the box who then tapped it to Derek Waldeck for the first goal of the game to lead the Dons 1-0. Just minutes later, Waldeck's offensive presence assisted a pass to Adam Mosharrafa who was able to get past Ruben Stuiver for the second goal of the match, 2-0.
