BERKELEY, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's soccer team struck early and late against host California. The final exhibition match of the season for the Dons ended in a 2-2 draw Friday afternoon at Edwards Stadium.
USF got on the board very early when Dominic Valdivia sent one to the back of the net off a corner kick. The strike came in just the second minute.
From there, the Dons were stifled by the Golden Bears defense, with the two sides trading possessions in the middle of the field.
The Dons went into the intermission leading 1-0 thanks to a strong showing from USF's back line which held Cal to just three shots in the opening period.
