SAN FRANCISCO – University of San Francisco men's golfer Tim Widing is returning for an unprecedented fifth season. The senior from Jonkoping, Sweden is utilizing the NCAA's provision allowing a fifth year of eligibility for student-athletes who saw their season canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
"I'm obviously very excited to come back for another year, especially considering our strong performance in the two events we were able to play in the spring," said Widing. "We have a lot of unfinished business to take care of, and with the addition of another Swede to the team (Viktor Hagborg Asp) I believe we're going to have the best season ever performed by a USF golf team.
