SAN FRANCISCO – Playing on the historic Lake Course at the Olympic Club, the University of San Francisco men's golf team had a strong second round to finish the first day in sixth at the USF hosted Olympic Club Intercollegiate.
USF finished the day with a 12-over 580 (295-284) on the par-71 course. The Dons opened the tournament in eighth after 18 holes before moving up two spots with a strong second round. The 284 was the fifth lowest score of the day.
Tim Widing led the Dons, his blistering second round saw him climb 22 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for eighth.
