GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Senior guard Rachel Howard registered her first-career double-double as she scored 17 points while pulling in a career-high 11 rebounds, but the USF women's basketball team suffered a 71-63 defeat at North Dakota on Saturday afternoon from the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
USF (4-4) led through three quarters, but fell victim to a North Dakota surge in the fourth quarter that saw the Fighting Hawks outscore the Dons 28-11 in the last period. USF held a 52-43 lead heading into the fourth quarter before North Dakota (2-4) went on a 17-4 run over the final six minutes to secure the comeback win.
