LOS ANGELES – The San Francisco track and field team rounded out its productive weekend with yet another improvement in the school record books on Saturday at the Oxy Invitational. Senior Ryan Driscoll shaved seven second off his previous best in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to improve his USF record in the event, one of five personal bests recorded at Jack Kemp Stadium.
Driscoll's record time of 8:50.87 earned him fourth in his heat as he crossed two seconds behind Dominican record holder Alvaro Abreu. The mark for Driscoll currently rates 15th in the West, with teammate Mohamed Aziz sitting in 33rd on the NCAA qualifying lists.
