SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- On a cloudy morning in the City by the Bay, the USF Dons baseball team (4-3) played two games on Saturday as they split the morning afternoon doubleheadder with the Utah Valley Wolverines (2-6) taking the opener 4-1 before coming up short by a 12-5 final in the second game.
USF received strong performances from starting pitcher and reliever as they both combined to allow a single run. Lombard picked up his first win of the season after throwing five innings of one run ball, while Ornido threw two perfect innings and struck out four UVU hitters to pick up his second save of the season.
