SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco men's soccer team defeated Stanislaus State, 1-0, in its exhibition opener on Friday at Negoesco Stadium.
"Stanislaus State was an athletic team that caused us a lot of problems. The result is secondary but we played well enough to win," said head coach .
Junior midfielder scored in the 82 minute off a corner kick by freshman to break the scoreless match. Bowman headed in the corner kick under the Stanislaus State goalkeeper Patrick Colombana.
