SAN FRANCISCO –– The USF women's tennis team picked up a huge win on Saturday at the Olympic Club taking down a 12-win Gonzaga team, 4-2, to earn the weekend sweep and move to 2-3 in conference play.
After beating Portland on Friday, the Dons needed to play some stellar tennis to earn a victory over the Bulldogs and did just that.
Gonzaga's Melanie Yates and Alex Bourguignon took the doubles match on the No. 2 court, 6-2, over Shanna Dos Santos and Hanna Borjeson, but the Dons would battle back. The senior pairing of Andrea Ka and Thyra Taune overmatched Samantha Polayes and Sophie Whittle on the No.
