SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Dons used a strong defensive effort and timely late-game offense to knock off the reigning National Champion Santa Clara Broncos Saturday night at Negoesco Stadium. It was a signature victory for USF and an impressive way to end the non-conference season.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- The first half was a defensive showcase by both teams as goalkeeper Molly Eby saved four Broncos' shots on goal leading to a scoreless first 45 minutes.
- Jamesen Ward used a nifty pass from Marissa Vasquez to set up the first goal of the night at the 55' mark in the game.
