STANFORD, Calif. -- Heading out on the road for a weeknight non-conference battle, the USF Dons baseball team (17-19, 6-6) battled hard until the final out as they fell short to the #22 Stanford Cardinal (18-10, 9-6) 6-5 at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond on Tuesday evening.

- Both offenses were ready to go from the opening pitch, as the Dons were able to score a couple of runs in the top of the first as Gabe Giosso drove a double down the left field line to drive home Luke Keaschall, and then came around to score on a wild pitch to give USF the early 2-0 lead.
