PORTLAND, Ore. – Battling injury and illness, the San Francisco women's tennis team succumbed to Portland 6-1 on Friday in the Rose City.
The Pilots took the victory at the courts of the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center in the first West Coast Conference match of the year for each squad.
USF earned their point on the day in the second slot in the lineup, as Emily Maxfield downed Radina Dimitrova, 6-3, 6-4. Maxfield, a freshman from Murrieta, Calif., nabbed her second win in the dual match season, with both of her victorious efforts coming on the road.
