SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Closing out a three-game Hilltop homestand, the University of San Francisco women's basketball team (11-14, 7-5) fell to Santa Clara (20-7, 8-4) on Thursday night in a competitive 73-65 contest.

- San Francisco opened the contest with an early 9-6 lead through four minutes of play, courtesy of buckets from Debora dos Santos, Luana Leite, and Aya Kéita, but a quick 11-0 run by Santa Clara put the Broncos up 17-9 at 3:15.
- The Dons quickly narrowed the deficit, ending the quarter on a 9-3 burst, with six points from dos Santos, as the first period ended with the Broncos on top, 20-18.
