SAN JOSE, Calif. - Hitting the road for the first time this fall, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (2-0-1) drew a tie at San Jose State (1-0-2) on Thursday evening as the Dons and Spartans tied at 1-1 after 90 minutes at Spartan Soccer Complex.

- Getting the offense started early, Karl Josefsson fired the first shot of the match for either side just 1:03 into the contest, but was denied by Spartan goalkeeper David Sweeney as the game remained scoreless to start.
- As the opening minutes of the match iunfolded, the two teams traded shots, but the Spartans got on the scoreboard first in the 28th minute after reigning WAC Offensive Player of the Week Angel Iniguez put home a goal following a ricochet off of a save by Eric Waltz.
