SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Aided by a five-run sixth inning, the University of San Francisco baseball team (10-9) earned a 6-1 victory over Creighton (8-5) in the series opener Friday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.

- Following a scoreless first inning, Creighton grabbed the game's first lead as Tate Gillen punched an RBI single through the middle of the infield for an early 1-0 in the top of the second.
- Shutout through the first three frames, San Francisco broke through in the bottom of the fourth inning, leveling the game at one.
