SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Opening the weekend against one of the top programs in the country, the University of San Francisco baseball team (16-17, 5-5 WCC) kept close with No. 17 Gonzaga (20-7, 8-2 WCC) in their series opener, but ultimately fell to the Bulldogs, 11-3 on Friday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.

- Getting on the board to begin the contest, Gonzaga tallied the opening run of the afternoon on a sacrifice fly from Grayson Sterling in the top of the first.
- With neither team able to find momentum in the second inning, the Zags pushed their lead to 3-0 on a two-run single from Sterling in the top of the third.
