OMAHA, Neb. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (12-6) dropped the series-opening game at Creighton (13-2) Friday evening, falling 13-5 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

- After two scoreless innings to start the contest, Creighton took the lead in the third, scoring runs to take a 2-0 advantage. A pair of one-out walks began the bottom half of the frame, followed by back-to-back RBI singles by Teddy Deters and Matt Scherrman to propel the Bluejays to the early lead.
- San Francisco answered in the top of the fifth inning, plating two runs to tie the game.
