SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco baseball team opened its home campaign with a doubleheader against San Jose State and Sacramento State, winning both to move to 4-2 on the season.
USF opened the scoring in the first game against San Jose State with a six-run fourth inning, highlighted by a grand slam by that was a no-doubter as soon as the senior shortstop made contact.
Following that big inning from the Dons, sophomore pitcher kept the Spartans scoreless, taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning before being replaced by freshman .
