SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco's baseball team evened their weekend series against Xavier with 8-2 win on Friday.
USF got the scoring going in the first inning when Mike Perri launched a solo home run to left center field. Thomas Ponticelli got the start today, keeping the Musketeers off the board for five innings, striking out four in that span.
In the sixth inning, Xavier took the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Back-to-back singles by the Musketeers put runners in scoring position with no outs, with the second single moving the runner over to third.
