SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Remaining hot to start conference play, the University of San Francisco men's basketball team (14-4, 3-0 WCC) returned home to the Hilltop in a big way on Saturday night as the Dons defeated Portland (7-11, 1-2 WCC ), 96-69, at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.

- With defense taking charge to open play, San Francisco got on the board first on a three-pointer from Malik Thomas at 18:03 to take an early 3-0 lead.
- Knocking down their shoots in the minutes to follow, the Dons stretched their lead to eight, 11-3, in the beginning minutes of the contest following another triple, this time courtesy of Marcus Williams at 15:53.
