The NFL has announced they will hand out a fan-voted award at their NFL Honors show for the “Play of the Year” (actually the Bridgestone Elite Performance Play of the Year, but that’s a whole lot to say, yeah?), and the San Francisco 49ers are involved in two of the nominees for very different reasons.
In the first play, Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals is catching the game-winning pass against the 49ers in overtime. Obviously, that’s not something 49ers fans want to vote for. But something all 49ers fans absolutely should vote for is the play on which wide receiver Marquise Goodwin caught a touchdown shortly after finding out he lost his son.
