On Sunday, SiriusXM NFL radio host Alex Marvez reported the San Francisco 49ers weren’t expected to retain defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina after serving on head coach Kyle Shanahan’s staff the last two seasons.
Despite boasting three former first-round NFL Draft picks — DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead and Solomon Thomas — the Niners D-line ranked 19th against the run and 17th against the pass in 2018, according to Football Outsiders.
