Though he’s been cleared to play on Saturday, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo does have a couple notable marks on his injury chart: a torn ligament in his right thumb and a right shoulder sprain.
The shoulder injury was the most recent, and while the team has determined he is good to go — a decision that should be taken with some skepticism — lingering issues around that part of his body could prove to be significant. Hall of Famer Steve Young expanded on the topic on KNBR’s Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks show.
