Vegas don’t care. Oddsmakers gave no credence to the 49ers’ signing of nine significant free agents. Before free agency the 49ers were 150:1 to win it all, and they are still 150:1 to win it after a serious augment to their roster according to Bovada.
The team also shed players during free agency, including the release of safety Antoine Bethea, wide receiver Torrey Smith and center Marcus Martin, all former starters. However, Bethea is aging and no longer fits the team’s Seattle-fashioned offense and Martin performed poorly when he did play. Smith was a free agent flame-out after signing two years ago.
