49ers first-round pick Solomon Thomas is back “home” in Australia and hoping to convince more Aussies to be like Jarryd Hayne, and give American football a try.
Thomas, who spent five years as a child living in Sydney, is helping promote the Sydney Cup game on Aug. 27 between his alma mater, Stanford, and Rice.
“It’s so amazing to be back here,” said the 21-year-old Thomas, whose family moved to Sydney from Chicago when he was 2 because of his father’s job as a salesman. “I would love to claim it as my place and home – I want to spend more time here.
