PEBBLE BEACH – While the 49ers were introducing new head coach Kyle Shanahan roughly 75 miles to the north, the winning coach in Super Bowl LI was spending his day at the beach – Pebble Beach, to be exact.
Wearing his familiar dour scowl, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was wielding a golf club as he trudged around Monterey Peninsula Country Club Thursday, just four days after capturing football’s biggest prize. He was competing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, something he has done before but this year with a special glow as the first five-time Super Bowl winning coach.
