SANTA CLARA – As the 49ers offseason program ends with mandatory minicamp Tuesday and Wednesday, Jimmy Garoppolo’s encouraging comeback is still at the forefront of 49ers-related minds.
What about Garoppolo’s mind?
Sharpening it with schemes and strategy are assistant coaches who are new to a now-crowded quarterbacks room: passing game coordinator Mike LaFleur, position coach Shane Day and offensive assistant Bobby Slowik.
“He’s eager to learn. He’s eager to be in meetings and listen to what’s being coached,” LaFleur told me last week about Garoppolo. “He’s very aware in our installs. It shows up more and more when you’re around him.
