OK, you’ve heard me going on about how having a true No. 1 wide receiver on the San Francisco 49ers isn’t necessary. This is thanks to the genius scheming of Kyle Shanahan’s offense. That said, we’re going to see who possibly could rise into that role.
The 49ers have been mighty busy overhauling the position. What was seen as laughably bad (2016) to below average (2017) to underrated (2018) has now become a strength for the offense. If the 49ers are planning on having a true No. 1, we should see it this year. They took Deebo Samuel in the draft and Dante Pettis has been getting some nods.
