With roster cuts coming this Friday, every team is looking for a way to keep as many good players as possible. For the San Francisco 49ers, that means using any resource necessary.
Rookie cornerback Tim Harris faced a tough path to the roster. Very raw and athletic, without nearly enough playing time develop, keeping Harris on the roster would have been a tough sell, especially at a position the Niners need bodies at.
That’s why the 49ers opted to place Harris on injured reserve (h/t NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco).
