SANTA CLARA – Not all 49ers heroes wore muddy uniforms Sunday after beating Washington.
Their crew packed, cleaned, dried, sorted, folded and stacked those once-gloriously grimy garments, and did so with aplomb.
Then, like the players they outfit in tailored attire, the 49ers equipment staff turned its attention to the next game: preparing the all-white, 1994-era throwback jerseys for Sunday’s visit by the Carolina Panthers.
“It’s part of the job, and we’ve got a great staff with a bunch of grinders that really enjoy what they do,” said Jay Brunetti, the 49ers’ third-year equipment manager. “It makes it so much easier fur us to manage the carnage that we had after that game.
