Thanks to media training and a tried-and-true list of postgame platitudes, it's rare when you hear how an NFL player actually feels after a loss.
But following the San Francisco 49ers' 41-23 wild card beatdown of the Seahawks on Saturday, we heard exactly how Seattle defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson felt in a profanity-laden press conference.
“Them boys whooped us,” Jefferson told assembled media following the Seattle's early playoff exit. “We came in, played a half of football and thought s—t was sweet. It’s four quarters. We ain’t finish."
The Seahawks held a 17-16 first-half lead behind a dominant DK Metcalf (four catches, 73 receiving yards, one touchdown at the half) and lackluster San Francisco defense that generated just one first-half sack.
