Speed kills, especially Matt Breida’s swiftness, as the Cleveland Browns found out rather quickly on Monday night.
The 49ers’ running back scored on a jaw-dropping 83-yard touchdown run less than two minutes into the game to give San Francisco a 7-0 lead on Monday Night Football.

On the 49ers’ first play from scrimmage, Breida took a handoff from Jimmy Garoppolo on a counter play, burst through the line and was gone. Thanks to lane-clearing blocks by fullback Kyle Juszczyk, tight end George Kittle and tackle Justin Skule, Breida was quickly through the Browns defense and sped past a safety on his way to the end zone.
