San Francisco 49ers safety Marcell Harris wasn’t supposed to be in the game in the third quarter, let alone staring down the hard-charging NFL MVP front-runner.
But in the game he was — after Niners safety Jaquiski Tartt took a knee to the ribs from Ravens running back Mark Ingram, Tartt was forced out of the game and Harris was forced into action.
On 3rd-and-1 from the San Francisco 34-yard-line, Harris shed a block from Baltimore tight end Mark Andrews on a 17-yard edge run from Ravens highlight machine Lamar Jackson. Harris then stripped the ball from Jackson, and corralled it immediately in his own chest for the recovery.
