Kyle Shanahan announced quarterback Trey Lance has a left knee sprain and could miss 1-2 weeks. He stressed this is not a long-term injury. Lance will be re-evaluated at the end of the week, and then the team will know whether Lance will be available for Sunday Night Football against the Colts in Week 6.
Shanahan didn’t know when the injury occurred, nor did Lance. The rookie QB already had an MRI, and that’s where the team got that Lance would miss 1-2 weeks.
Shanahan was asked multiple times was Lance injured due to running the ball when he wasn’t supposed to, and Kyle emphatically shot those questions down.
