Torrey Smith's generosity is Anquan Boldin-like.
Smith, the San Francisco 49ers wideout who was signed at the start of last year's free-agency period, is doing things in the community that would make the reigning Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year winner proud.
Case in point: Smith joined forces with a handful of celebrities to provide financial support to Donors Choose, a foundation that supports underfunded school programs across the country. The foundation created a #BestSchoolDay campaign on Thursday, March 10, and it was celebrated on CBS' "Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
Joining the likes of actress Anna Kendrick, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard and the founders of Twitter and Craigslist, Smith appeared in New York City to share his support for the cause.
