The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of running back Tim Hightower on Tuesday, and we are starting to see some contract details. Adam Caplan is reporting Hightower received $1,107,000 on his one year contract, with $300,000 of that guaranteed. I took a look at the NFLPA salary database, and Hightower’s base salary is $825,000. Doing the math, a small portion of that salary is guaranteed, along with some kind of signing bonus.
The 49ers signed Hightower shortly after re-signing DuJuan Harris. The two of them will compete for work behind Carlos Hyde, with Mike Davis and Raheem Mostert also likely looking at training camp work.
