Free-agent running back Pierre Thomas is scheduled to make a return visit to the 49ers on Tuesday, a source told CSNBayArea.com.
Thomas, 30, who played each of his eight previous seasons with the New Orleans Saints, visited the 49ers two weeks ago after running back Carlos Hyde was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal. Thomas could be added to provide the team with another option at a position that has been decimated by injuries.
