San Francisco 49ers cornerback Jason Verrett reintroduced himself to the NFL on Sunday night vs. the Los Angeles Rams after coming down with a critical interception in the endzone late in the third quarter.
Verrett was targeted just twice in the game, and allowed zero receptions while recording the INT and another pass broken up. The Rams game was far from a fluke, as Verrett has quietly been the best cornerback in the NFL this season in the critical metric of passer rating allowed.
According to Pro Football Focus, Verrett has been targeted 11 times in the four games he's appeared in this season, and has allowed just four catches for 24 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception.
