Third quarter: Panthers own worst enemies

Third quarter: Broncos 16, Panthers 7

Analysis: Every time it looked as if the Carolina Panthers were on the verge of getting something going on offense, the Broncos’ defense proved to be just a little better, a little more opportunistic. In many ways, the Panthers were their own worst enemy between Jerricho Cotchery’s dropped pass, Graham Gano’s missed field goal, and Cam Newton’s interception. The Broncos thwarted Carolina’s final chance of the third quarter when Derek Wolfe and Von Miller shared a sack on a third-and-8 play from the Panthers’ 32-yard line. The Panthers, who have lost just one game this season, were absolutely stymied through three quarters.
